What's wrong with the speed guns lately?

It's not only today. Throughout the whole grasscourt season the speed guns have been all over the place.

In Halle during the Federer-Nieminen match Roger had a serve at 223kmph and Jarkko hit his fastest ever at 218kmph which is nonsense.

Over in Queens during the Murray-Navarro match I remember Rusedski and Petchey laughing at the crazy numbers the speed gun was showing.

I thought the problem would go away by Wimbledon but some ridiculous serve speeds have been recorded today. Berdych supposedly had a 152mph serve .

Better servers of course.

Federer / Haas / Safin / Gaudio / Kuerten / Youzhny / Nadal / Gonzalez / Ljubicic / Hewitt / Soderling / Wawrinka / Coria / Nalbandian / Kohlschreiber

Scary pic :-) Overdone the "nutritional supplements" a bit there.....

Having said that, unless you believe Anderson can serve 205mph, it's pretty obvious the speedguns are about as reliable as a Korolev groundstroke.
