Wimbledon R1 : Luczak def. Robredo 2-6 7-6 (3) 6-2 7-5

Sure Boredo was focusing on the Spanish match tonight. Luczak wins his first match at Wimbledon at his first attempt.

After a nervy start, he settled down and served very well and wasn't a chicken shit when he had chances. You know it's a good day when Luczak is hitting backhand winners.

Rare to Luczak so fired up and never bad when Boredo loses.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Tommy

Good win for Luczak though, unlucky to have to play Rafa at AO and Roger at RG this year in the first round, so it's about time he got a win at a Slam this year. Still, wish it hadn't been against Tommy, he's been having a rough year since his injury

He was killing Robredo out there. Was awesome to see someone really want something and then actually get it. Good luck next round.

Re: Wimbledon R1 : Luczak def. Robredo 2-6 7-6 (3) 6-2 7-5

Tommy's results off of clay have been really abysmal the last about 2 years, which is surprising since he was actually pretty decent on other surfaces for a clay guy. Of course, he sucks on grass and is just coming back from injuries, and Peter just had a good run last week in Holland, so this result is not a surprise.

Peter was the aggressive player and once he found his range, he was the one in control. Congrats to Peter on the win.

Looch. Great match from him especially when it mattered and good to see he was pumped about it. Hopefully he can keep it up.

For one, his results off clay have been average at best throughout his career. Secondly, he doesn't do anything well enough outside of his forehand. But, with that said, he's improved his game quite a bit now that he is healthy. He's not really a top 50 guy consistently, he can maybe reach a career high of 40, and be a 40-80 player, but that's about it.
