falla nearly had this match, but you just knew that he would somehow choke his way in the end.
good job by fed to hold on and not lose in the first round

Wimbledon R1: Federer def. Falla 5-7, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(1), 6-0

great comeback from Fed Falla served for the match in the 4th set but choked in that game.

Fed needs to forget the first 4 sets and turn out at least as solid as the 5th set from here on to have any chance to reach the SF, but he isn't winning Wimbledon this year.

Stroll in the park

NID

Falla was impressive for 95% of the match, Federer not so much.

Falla exposed Fed's poor movement to the forehand side, extracted errors with the CC backhand all the time.

After Nadal beat Monfils at Doha, before AO 2014

That was rather pathetic from Falla. Berdych and Haas will comfort him.

All things considered one of the classic chokes of the modern era.

2 words HOLY SHIT!!! Today’s performance can lead to 1 of 2 options:
  1. It’s the kick in the backside for him to get his act together in this tournament
  2. evidence of brain farts with disastrous beat down by the next guy he plays.

Keep up this routine every match wouldn't take him in the final with enough energy.
But Congrats Fed (Never in doubt actually)

to both players Shankerer for his performance and Falla for his choking abilities...Gasquet would be proud.

I liked Falla before this, but honestly, what a mug. Federer couldn't have been gifting him the match more if he aimed for the 27th row. That 0-40 in the 3rd......
