Players' union

During an interview with An Australian TV show, Leyton said a lot of other players are supporting him and his court case against the ATP. I don't know if it's true or not but it may explain why Mark Miles offered to decrease the amount of the fine. But my question is why don't the players have a union like the basketball or baseball players so that their grievances can be addressed? Would a union help or hinder the promotion/marketing of the men's tour?

I think they do have something similar to that, or at least there are player representatives. Todd Martin was at some stage, so was Alex Corretja...

the ATP was the players union until it broke away from the ITF and set up its own tour in 1990.

I think there is some sort of Player Coucil, but I'm not sure how it works.

I didn't know Hewitt said players were supporting him over this. Interesting.

Yeah he said this "I've been getting along great with the players, they've been fantastic. You know obviously I've had a few issues with the ATP over the last few weeks and the silly thing is the ATP doesn't really realise how many players behind the scenes come up to me with added support and you know there's guys saying If I go to court they wanna offer me some money with the court case against the ATP"

Yes there is. There are players representing the classes.
I know Andre Sa will be the representative man for the players ranked between 50 and 100 in 2003, or something like that.

Tennishack "interesting" in what sense?

Hitman: Do you know anything about the grievance prosedures?
exactly how much weight do these plaer reps have with the ATP, ITF? Could/should Lleyton have used these arbitration/mediation measures first? Do you know of any player who has?

I read either in J. Mac.'s book or BBC site (not sure which) that Borg had similar problems with the ATP and only after he left in protest did they make changes he requested.

Arwen and Aragorn
Eowyn and Faramir
Eomer

Marat, Lleyton, Marcelo, Yevgeni, Serena, Anna k., Venus, Martina H. So they say you're arrogant, tell em to kiss your ***.

So they say you can't control your temper, so what?

So they say you're rude, keep laughing as you win titles

To all the bad boys and bad girls keep on keeping on and screw everyone else.
