Petzschner should have won that first set. He was up a break on two occasions. Once it went to a tiebreaker though, the outcome of the set was never in doubt. The second set was more comfortable for Federer.
I look foward to the final vs. Hewitt tomorrow. These guys have played each other 24 times and Federer has won their last 15 encounters (with Hewitt's last victory coming in 2003 after being 2 sets to 0 down) but he'll have to keep his focus on serve tomorrow otherwise Hewitt will have an opportunity to de-turkey himself as far as the head to head goes.
The German clown was owning Fed for most of the first set but capitulated when it really mattered. Hope Hewitt can at least make the final interesting.

+ any five set win for Todd Martin
“The goal, when I took my break of six months, was doing this for the next couple years, not just for one tournament, I understand people who say, ‘Oh, this would be a perfect moment to go.’ But I feel like I’ve put in so much work, and I love it so much, and I still have so much in the tank.”
shaky performance from Rog, Petzschner really had the "all or nothing" attitude and went for his shots most of the time, Roger was kinda lucky to win the 1st set. But still good enough in the end, love the finals matchup vs Lleyton!!!
