Halle SF: Federer d. Petzschner 7-6(4), 6-4

Only watched the last games of the second set. Federer didn't look so comfy on the court today and this German lad seemed to be quite dangerous and was going for his shots in the little I saw.

He didn't play well today. Too many eassy volleys and FH missed.

Re: Halle SF: Federer d. Petzschner 7-6(4), 6-4

Petzschner should have won that first set. He was up a break on two occasions. Once it went to a tiebreaker though, the outcome of the set was never in doubt. The second set was more comfortable for Federer.

I look foward to the final vs. Hewitt tomorrow. These guys have played each other 24 times and Federer has won their last 15 encounters (with Hewitt's last victory coming in 2003 after being 2 sets to 0 down) but he'll have to keep his focus on serve tomorrow otherwise Hewitt will have an opportunity to de-turkey himself as far as the head to head goes.

Re: Halle SF: Federer d. Petzschner 7-6(4), 6-4

Not as good as the last few matches, especially on serve. But a win is a win!

Will Federer regain the #1 spot and break Sampras's record for most weeks at the top?

Roger // Rafa // Raonic // Söderling // Goffin // Ivo // Wawrinka // Baker // Delpo

The German clown was owning Fed for most of the first set but capitulated when it really mattered. Hope Hewitt can at least make the final interesting.

Petzschner played well, Roger too strong when it mattered, now take the title

shaky performance from Rog, Petzschner really had the "all or nothing" attitude and went for his shots most of the time, Roger was kinda lucky to win the 1st set. But still good enough in the end, love the finals matchup vs Lleyton!!!

Fed's ground game still a bit ragged round the edges.

Broken for the first time since 2006 here, and twice in the same set, plus Petzschner had 0-40 on another of Federer's games.

Pathetic choking from the German when serving from the set. Embarrassing.

Tennis has no blood passport system, and does basically no out of competition testing.

The methods and drugs used by Armstrong in 1999 would work in tennis right now, with zero chance of being caught (not slightly surprising to anyone familiar with the topic, btw).
