Exclamation Underused Weapon in Tennis - The Underarm Serve

How rarely do we see someone using an underarm serve in Tennis? Don't you think that when done diligently, it can be used almost like a drop shot, especially when your opponent is standing way behind the base line; especially effective on grass courts, where ball naturally plays low!

Its quite surprising that none of the tennis players have tried to master it and use it in his armory on a regular basis!

Your comments pls...

I'm not sure about using it on a regular basis, but using it every now and then wouldn't hurt.

Someone shoudl famously use it once a match. It would get into the other players head/ The opponent would always be thinking when they will they use it.

Karlovic is the best one.

Remember there was a guy called Nduka Odizor he was serving huge against John McEnroe. Mac was back 5m behind the baseline and the Duke underarm aces him and McEnroe was so pissed off.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

In tennis savoir vivre it's considered spitting on your opponent's face, no wonder I saw Crazy Dani doing it.

I will burn
And you will die...

It should be forbidden, it is a cheap shot.

This comment made me think that they must've been thinking the same back in the day when the first player started with the overhead serve.

Sneaky but perfectly legal.
