Surprised Tipsarevic didn't retire Great for Granollers though.

Very bad loss, but probably because of lack of matches. Hope he stays healthy for a few weeks.

Actually, it's not that bad of a loss. Marcel has a game that can play well on grass. Janko did well taking a set and keeping it close. With as much he's been on and off the tour this year, Janko just needs match practice in the worst way. He'll get better as he gains match toughness, consistency and fitness.

Marcel is not a grass court gimp by any means. He impressed me a lot with his performace against Soderling at Wimbledon last year. He wasn't afraid to venture to the net and looked very comfortable there, plus his backhand slice looked pretty good.

yep, no need to worry about Janko, Marcel has the tools to be a menace on grass, not massive but effective serve, great backhand and a nice volley, he's a good doubles player and that may help his grass game.
I really expect him to do well for next month

Re: Queens R1: Granollers def Tipsarevic 6-4 3-6 6-3

Tipsarevic refused to shake the umpire's hand at the end of the match. He had a few outbursts at the umpire due to bad calls and there was a long argument at the start of the third set which involved both players. I think one of the linesmen started to make a call but wasn't decisive. Either way, it was bad form from Tipsy because the umpire pretty much over-ruled the decisions which initially went against him!

Granollers' game isn't particuarly powerful but he painted the lines really well, made some nice touch volleys and played some good drop-shots, which was wise as Tipsy was struggling with the court and fell over a few times. His backhand is such a weird shot because he has such late preparation on that stroke!

Tsonga - Mayer - Lacko - Rosol - Youzhny - Melzer - Petzschner
