Re: Who Is Better Sam Querrey Or John Isner

It's funny to think that Isner is 25 already and Querrey is only 22. Given this, I would have to say Querrey.

Re: Who Is Better Sam Querrey Or John Isner

Isner faces bp: ace. Fail that, a bomb from the best 2nd serve in tennis. Fail that, a huge clutch point to hold.

Querrey faces bp: double fault.

OK, I exaggerate, but Querrey does not remotely leverage the maximum he can out of his serve, and his bp save numbers are simply terrible (and doubly so compared to a bpsaving machine like Isner).

Isner. And Although Querrey is the younger player and normally he's supposed to have more time to improve his game, they are about the same age in tennis terms because Querrey turned pro even before Isner did.

Re: Who Is Better Sam Querrey Or John Isner

They're even. Isner has the better serve, Querrey the better groundstokes. Their results are almost identical and when they play each other head to head it always comes down to one point.

Hate to judge guys on looks, not really relevant here, but Querrey looks like the joker out of Batman movies, while Isner could probably pull some tail even if he wasn't a pro tennis player.

Re: Who Is Better Sam Querrey Or John Isner

they are both pretty close in rankings, although big john definitely has the bigger serve, which would give him the upper hand.

Re: Who Is Better Sam Querrey Or John Isner

Tough one. Querry all around. Isner's catching up, and of course his serve makes up for a lot. ....And an Isner match is always a much more fun match to watch.

Isner. Querrey is a decent player but he has no weapons as dangerous as Johnny boy's serve.

Re: Who Is Better Sam Querrey Or John Isner

I would disallow either one from playing on the pro tour again, but I would have to say Querrey is more complete.
