Roddick is far too arrogant.

Moreso than any runner-up I've ever seen.

You can see in the way he walks, talks, and plays that he thinks he is the greatest to ever hold a racquet. Maybe once he proves that he can challenge Federer, he will have a case, but until then, his arrogance is just annoying and unfounded.

Le Poussin! Faithfully ignoring the haters since 1995.

Le Poulailler de Poussin! (Simontarded.)

So are these types of threads. All you will get is star, tangerine and bunk having a 10 page discussion using sarcasm.

you could have said this in any of the other 10 Roddick threads.

Not to mention REALLY FUNNY and clever "inside jokes". Oh, how this board is enriched by those three.

I lack direction.

Chocking makes me sad.

Re: Roddick is far too arrogant.

Sorry, I haven't seen any arrogance from Andy this week. He has been more determined and more focused than I have ever seen him, but I don't think it's arrogance. He knows he has a HUGE task at hand, defending a Slam, and he knows that his nemesis is probably waiting for him at the end of the road. He has not taken any of his opponents for granted and he has come out for these matches quicker than I have ever seen him play. He knows that he is probably going to finish the year number two behind Roger, who has so many points it's mostly impossible to catch him, so his only two consolation prizes left for this year are to win this Slam and to try to win the Masters Cup. If he throws a little bit of attitude around to keep himself pumped up for that, so be it. He has not been disrespectful to his opponents (I've read comments that he played hard against Scoville because he took him seriously) and he's kept his arguing with the chair umpire to a minimum.

We all know there are a lot of Roddick haters on this board and I am not one to try to change anybody's opinion of a player unless I feel there are incorrect facts involved, but I really wish we could find better things to talk about.

Best twitter posts of the epic match:

@dougrobson - Whoever is supplying Mahut with hair gel needs to ink a sponsorship deal now.

@Wimbledon - FYI, with @Wimbledon live scoring devices, please add 50 to the games in the fifth set of the Isner v Mahut match.

@HolterMedia - Nice to see that a three-day test has come to tennis here @wimbledon.

Re: Roddick is far too arrogant.

Oh, I should add my two cents on this thread as I do in all "arrogance" threads:

Roddick is no doubt arrogant. As are just about anybody else who has been in his position. It's sort of a requirement for winning that much and being that good, I think. If you aren't arrogant enough you just end up being an also ran

I lack direction.

Chocking makes me sad.

Re: Roddick is far too arrogant.

blahblahblah

Q. At 3‑2 in that game where you had several breakpoints, you went up and shook the net and let out a bit of a growl. What was going on?

ANDY RODDICK: It wasn't working for me. You know, if you were helping him get points, I'd shake you, too (smiling).

Q. You're one of the few top players that still plays doubles. How do you feel that's helping your game?

MARAT SAFIN: Not much (laughter).

Yeah, you gotta love those three.

Between the long-ass post when just a plain "no" would have sufficed; a fake show of sanctimony; and attempts to be witty badly missing the mark, yeah, you got one hell of a postfest going on.

When it happens, could someone rouse me out of my sleep so I can pop some kettle corn and watch this take place?

It's not like you're the most difficult one to figure out. Your posts are littered with unintelligent dribble that even a two-year-old can point out as bullshit.

And twice as many as myself. And how many of those 6,166 posts are quality? Maybe half of one?
