Well, the Barcelona crowd will probably warm to him as a Madrid man a bit more now.

The Wit and Wisdom of the Tennis Journalist, Indian Wells 2004

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

Thanks Fer for destroying SodaClown !!!!!!!!!

The hatest player was destroyed in Barcelona.
Just wish a new meeting against Nadal soon. The revenge is coming and will be terrible.

The Toad couldn't be the first Swede since Carlsson to win this event.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Amazing metamorphosis by Nando - deadly tired loses 3-6 4:5 (0-30), and second serve, against Melzer, and a couple days later destroys Pics and Soderling in the third set

You were waiting on tenterhooks to post that at the end of the match, weren't you.

I don't think losses to Spaniards in Barcelona and Rome matter too much to Soderling, he got the win that really counted.

Well played Verdasco. I was expecting a choke in that last service game.

Great match by Verdasco, fully deserves his title

it seems that the perspective of representing Spain made him fully confident

it's seldom that you can see Verdasco playing against a player having the combination more power/less speed than him

Söderling's footwork not great in this match, not well adapted to clay yet.

useless old guy

Great victory for Verdasco. He deserved to win that title after the true finale yesterday against Ferrer. He really is consistant at the top now.

And a new proof that Sodeling can't beat a top opponent if he is not injured. If he runs into Nadal next week, this is going to be ugly for him. Nadal in top shape destroys that clown.

Anyone notice Soderling walk straight up to (his coach) Norman and start talking to him between games at one point? He didn't even try to hide it.
