How many games will Rafa lose in Rome?

Rafa is on fire.

Try and predict the eventual outcome.

Re: How many game will Rafa lose in Rome?

i'd say the exact number of your neurons, but he'll lose more...

sorry, but i'm tired of those crappy threads...

Q. Do you think you would have been able to play as well as you played today, or you think you would have pulled out from the game if it wasn't the Masters Cup final?

ROGER FEDERER: No, Roger Federer doesn't pull out. Otherwise he doesn't walk on court (smiling).

After losing to Nalbandian in 2005 TMC final...

Contrary to what the anti-Rafa-brigade would like to believe, the draw is quite easy, I recon the combined lot won't take more than 20 games of him.

Re: How many games will Rafa lose in Rome?

his draw is harder than in Monte-Carlo (and he should not meet a headcase like Verdasco in the final ), and the surface here is drier and quicker.

I also have more question mark about his knee now, since his withdrawal from Barcelona looks strange.

He may drop a set

But it's true that with Nadal on clay, the polls should rather be that than "who will win ?"

useless old guy

Re: How many games will Rafa lose in Rome?

This thread is an example of wishful thinking. Nadal has never been as strong at Rome as at Monte Carlo or Paris. Apparently we have hot conditions this week so the courts will be even drier and faster than they normally are. Plus he may have to go Soderling - Federer - Djokovic, which in the absence of Del Potro and Davydenko is about as bad a draw as he can get on clay.

I give him a 40-50% chance of winning the tournament. Even if he does win, it won't be a procession like MC with all the little Spanish girls lining up to give him a blow-job.

Re: How many games will Rafa lose in Rome?

40-50% chance of winning? Um............no. Fact is, Nadal has shown he's on a completely different level on clay compared to the other players.

Rafa is likely to win this tournament, and what is actually more likely is he won't play Federer or Soderling. If they do get to that point, I could see Roger troubling Rafa, but Nadal would destroy Robin, just like last year.

With that said, I see Kohli (if they play) winning around 9 games vs. Nadal. I also see Roger (if they play) possibly winning a set. So, it definitely won't be as easy as in Monte Carlo.

My prediction: He drops (at least) one set.
