Barca 3R: Schwank beats Navarro 6-3 7-6(7)

Unreal, Edu seems to be becoming a mental fighter. Was behind in the tb and saved two sps (one on Navarro's serve).
2 hours 10 minutes for two sets

he saved four set points (*3-6 and *6-7) but also wasted a lot of BPs during that 2nd set

Navarro will cash in with a smile on his face anyway. His run here was the aftermath of getting pummeled in straights (including a bagel) by the hands of Christophe Rochus in the qualies.

Good tournament for Edu, fortunate draw and made the most of it. He needs tournaments like this in the ATP to allow himself to believe he should be on this level. Hopefully this is the start to big things for him.

Wow, you're right. He lost 6-2 6-0 to C.Rochus in the final round of qualifying (only won one round), then becomes a lucky loser and gets a bye into the second round. He got a qualifier in the 2nd round and Schwank in the third. Given all this Schwank couldn't have gotten a better 3rd round draw, but at least he took advantage of it. Soderling next.
