Ferrero looking hot and that's what matters.

He played well too.

JCF bullying the birthday boy. No mercy for Marcel (just turned 24).

Seems to have pretty much picked up where he left off in Latin America. The real tests will finally come later this week.

Yeah he was hitting some very good ball.

Just the little blip when he went 0-2 down but soon rescued that, and Granollers struggled to make a dent - even when he played well, Juanqui was coming up with the answers.

A joy to watch - man was on fire. Agree that his real tests are forthcoming.

I liked some of the sharp cross-court angles he was getting off his BH, very Nalbandianesque.

Doubt he'll put more than a dent in Nadal's title march but I'm sure he'd settle for a QF appearance at this stage. Hasn't made the last 8 of a Masters in three years (when he reached the semis here).

I agree, if Nadal is struggling for one reason or another, Ferrero does have the form, and the history to take advantage of that, he did so in Rome back in 08 - but I think he'll need help from Nadal to repeat that feat.

I do think it could be a good match if they both make it that far, though.

Ferrero was having some decent shots. Actually, it was brilliant how he played!

Juanqui was just too good. Marcel looked a little shaky at times, but I'm glad he eventually got a few games on the board.

Re: Monte Carlo R1: JCF def. Granollers 6-0 6-3

Loved those angles and cross court passing shots, just goes to shows how resourceful Juan Carlos is on this surface. The first set went a bit too easy, Granollers was making too many UEs and probably gave up from midways, but the second set they had a match of a sort at least for the first four games.

That smiley JC drew on the camera was so cute!

JUAN CARLOS FERRERO FOREVER!!

Also supporting Rafael Nadal, Kei Nishikori, Lleyton Hewitt
David Ferrer, Andy Murray, Juan Martin Del Potro, Nikolay Davydenko, David Nalbandian
Goran Ivanisevic and Marat Safin
