Re: 2010: MTF Top 10 Favourite Active Players

Thanks everyone for voting so far

It would be nice though to read a few reasons why you like those players

2# Djokovic has been voted nº1 more than any other player (9 times to Fed's 5)
3# Most Djokovic fans voted also for Rafa
4# Most Fed fans didn't vote for Rafa at all
5# Nalbaldian and Soderling are big favorites
#6 Outside the Top 10, Isner gets the most votes (obviously they didn't read the thread title)
Take your own conclusions...
Thanks for those stats

There's a thread where you can name your FavouriteTop 10 Retired Players:

Now I see what title may Rafito win to escape that 12-months-without-title embarrassment: MTF's fave player title.

Fedhatas united. As old as world.

4# Most Fed fans didn't vote for Rafa at all
Anyway if some of us would vote for Finito, please do not count their votes for Fed, because they are not fans of him.

Re: 2010: MTF Top 10 Favourite Active Players

Mostly for style reasons :

1. Federer (the last number 1 with a beautiful playing style before long ?)
2. Youzhny (lovely talent, he nearly gave me orgasm the way he beat big retriever-Simon twice last year, with long exchanges and the right attack at the right moment)
3. Nalbandian (lovely talent, we missed him last year)
4. Gasquet (beautiful style, great hand, also he's ranked quite high because I support him for coming back after a terrible story)
5. Gonzalez (sorry for forgetting him first , but he sometimes gives me orgasms as well with his forehand and above all his totally engaged and confident game with a total absence of fear)
6. Tsonga (a lot of power but some moments of beauty in his game ... and being French, I see many of his matches on TV )
7. Kohlschreiber (a little bit like Youzhny but less talented)
8. Wawrinka (also for his character, his style can be sometimes enjoying, sometimes boring)
9. Stepanek (I don't understand why so few people like him , not only an expert in volleys, has a lot of touch, I loved the way he beat Verdasco in Brisbane final in the beginning of 2009)
10. Davydenko (I'm moved by his fighting abilities for a small man, great player)

(has been removed to give place to Gonzo :
11. Djokovic (I like his angles and near-the-lines balls, I also like his character, completely different from Federer, more "seducer", but I like both, I hope he can be the future number 1 after Federer, rather than Nadal and Murray or even Del Potro, although I also like Del Potro's character))

useless old guy

Last edited by duong; 04-14-2010 at 02:43 PM. Reason: sorry I had forgotten Gonzo : he gets to number 5 and all the other players lose one rank then Djokovic drops out of top-10

Re: 2010: MTF Top 10 Favourite Active Players

1. Devvarman: Best college player, probably of all time(in college I mean). Amazing work ethic, great guy. I have seen him play in person twice
2. D.Young: I know he is disliked in general but I like his style of play. I also would like to see a successful player from the Atlanta area.
3. Monfils: Love his energy and attitude.
4. Tsonga: Same as Monfils, exciting player
5. Nishikori: I would like to see a Japanese player succeed. I also would like to see him overcome his injuries.
6. Nathan Thompson: Best Clemson player in recent years
7. Almagro: Not sure why really
8. Bolleli: Another one I'm not sure about
9. Dustin Brown: Jamaican

I have to decide on a 10th

Paradorn Srichaphan
Kei Nishikori, Donald Young, Somdev Devvarman, Dustin Brown, Steve Johnson, Yannick Maden
Robert Farah, Clement Reix, Alexander Dolgopolov, Nathan Thompson
