what should your favourite player(s) improve in his game?

rafa should improve his

1) 1st serve
2) 2nd serve
3) return of 1st serve
4) backhand slice
5) forehand volley
6) overhead

in addition to the above, it's better if he can also develop an effective forehand slice........players are attacking his forehand and that squash shot will come in real handy.......

go ahead with your list for your favourite player(s).......

Re: what should your favourite player(s) improve in his game?

Andy Murray needs to improve his second serve which is stating the obvious, however it has always been an evident problem however never been all that costly, whereas over the last two tournaments it has, Fish was really hurting Murray off the second serve returns as was Soderling therefore allowing them to both break Murray many times.

At the moment his mental approach is also a problem along with his forehand, however the two kind of go hand in hand, for example when playing Nadal regardless of the head to head Murray knows all out aggression is the only thing that will get it done, therefore his mental approach is sorted in regards to aggression therefore enabling him to hit aggressive powerful forehands, however if he is in two minds in regards to how to approach a match or an opponent you can see he does not want to really go for his shots therefore making his forehand a very vulnerable shot and in many instances just sitting in the middle of the court for his opponents to punish.

His volleys are very solid however still over rated based on the fact that if you listen to pundits and commentators you would think he volleys like a doubles specialist which he certainly does not, his smashes are also good but sometimes like his forehand a little bit too conservative.

His backhand, 1st serve, conditioning, returns and defence are awesome and therefore I would consider these the only areas of improvement that are really holding him back at current. Mainly his mental approach though I must say.

i think his forehand was fine........it's just fallen off gradually since the beginning of 2009........

coming to the physical aspect, i wonder whether he can overcome his stamina issues or not.......

Re: what should your favourite player(s) improve in his game?

Improvements for De Bakker:

- Footwork
- Volley
- Backhand
- Tactics (gameplan)
- More approach to the net (playing more agressive)
- Mentality

Tsonga - Wawrinka - Del Potro - Gasquet - F.Lopez - Monfils - Haas - Janowicz - Youzhny - Tomic - Hewitt - Gulbis - Mahut - Haase - Schoorel - Sijsling - Huta Galung - De Bakker - Van der Duim - Westerhof - Middelkoop - Koolhof - Lootsma - S&T. Griekspoor - Sels - Van Rijthoven

All time: Safin - Schalken - Krajicek - Sluiter - Verkerk - Henman - Ivanisevic - Nalbandian - Ferrero - Philippoussis - Sampras - Siemerink - Blake - F.Gonzalez - Ancic - Haarhuis/Eltingh

Still supporting all the Dutchies despite their great choking skills
Looking forward to the Dutch Futures and Challengers this summer!

the first thing which strikes to mind about murray is his lifeless forehand........

agreed with the rest of your list as well.......he has different approaches for different opponents but sometimes he is caught in dilemma and ends up getting overtly defensive both gamewise and mentally.......

Re: what should your favourite player(s) improve in his game?

Both 1st and 2nd serve return
Slice backhand
Approach shots
Volleys
Getting comfortable flattening out the forehand more often

These have always been issues for Andy. He has gotten slightly better over time(other than the forehand), but these areas are still realistically improvable. He'll never have a backhand like Agassi so I won't even list that.

At this point, what Nadal needs is nothing but a new pair of knees.

Tennis has no blood passport system, and does basically no out of competition testing.

The methods and drugs used by Armstrong in 1999 would work in tennis right now, with zero chance of being caught (not slightly surprising to anyone familiar with the topic, btw).
