very entertaining match, the result was NID even after Pico played a very good first set

these courts are horrible to play with touch because it's too windy

thanks for the vCash Gonzo

Miami R3: Gonzo Outlasts Monaco 6-7 6-4 6-2

Gonzo struggled with the wind early on. Lots of nice forehand, lob winners from both. Monaco gave up after losing the 2nd set. At one point Gonzo hit monaco in the head with a cross court forehand..he did the same sort of thing to stepanek last year. Interesting french open rematch with soderling tomorrow

Pico was playing pretty well, had a few bps in the middle of the second, but Gonzalez came up with a couple fantastic running backhand passing shots which really turned the tide of the match around.

Monaco should do some damage on the clay, but Gonzalez will have to get his act together tomorrow. Soderling has been playing really well.

A strange yet highly entertaining match. Things didn’t bode well for Gonzo with the gusty winds, but they eventually died down along with Monaco’s confidence. Two embarrassingly whiffed overheads didn’t help matters and Gonzo took control mid way thru the 2nd set.

I hope he takes out Soderass.

Amazing from gonzo as it looked as though he had given up for the first few games in the second, the hold of the break points really inspired him.

When was the last match in which both players had a positive W/UE? Probably the last time two non-pushers played on non-clay... Fed-Soderling USO '09 QF?
