Miami R1: Blake d. (WC)Krajinovic 6-7(6) 6-4 6-4

Krajinovic almost scored his first ATP win (and turn around his disappointed season thus far) but Blake prevailed in the end. At least 18 year old wild card Krajinovic made a good match of it. Blake goes on to face 27th seed Bellucci in round 2.

The Serb had game point for 5-4 in the second but Df'd and Blake seemingly took control from there. Blake should be able to take down Bellucci. You never know though.

Too bad I couldn't watch this - I can't tell how well Krajinovic was playing. All I can tell from the stats is that Blake served like absolute sh!t. It must have been all Blake's match experience that helped him dig out the win. Krajinovic put up a good fight for an 18 year old ranked #331.

Blake better pick it up against Bellucci.

yea james too good. Love it how he let krajinovic into it and then sucked the life out of him while he was winning and smashed him.

Well, considering Krajinovic's recent form I thought that Blake would destroy him...

Good result. Just hope Filip doesn't become a new Janko - playing great against tough opponents and losing in straights against his own level or weaker ones.

“There’s so many athletes, tennis players around the world,” he continued, trying to put his life into some kind of perspective, “they want to be the best in what they do. They want to succeed. Many of them, they don’t succeed in the end. I’m fortunate to have this opportunity and succeed.”

Blake after match:

"From what I saw tonight he's got a lot of talent, moves great, very solid and a weapon in the backhand," said Blake of his young opponent. "His serve needs to improve, get a little bigger, especially a second serve.""He needs to do a few more things and get a little bigger and stronger for sure to compete every week on this tour, but I'd take that ability at 18 years old over what I was working with at that age".

I'm quite sure he will as long as he keeps working hard.
Tennis is more demanding than ever and things have changed. It became more physical than ever and young players are having hard time to keep up with older guys until they are physically matured. Filip needs to keep working on his strength and footwork and results will come in time. His serve already improved leaps and bounds from last year and it will keep improving as he will grow a bit more and will become stronger. If he managed to beat James it would have been huge boost for him but he shouldn't be unhappy with result as he proved to him self that he is slowly getting there. Once he bulks up a bit and gets some more experience we can expect some good things from him as long, I repat, as he keeps working hard, that's the key.
He had really nice results on clay last year and he will start his clay season in Houston I think the he will head back to Europe for some challengers before Belgrade ATP 250 where he will get WC for sure from his home Tennis Federation. Keep on going Filip and good luck.

Good stuff Ficjo, we believe in you.

ASI Director-General Gautam Sengupta said the list of India's treasures held abroad was "too long to handle" and there was a need for a "diplomatic and legal campaign" for their restitution from institutions, including the British Museum, the Royal Collection and the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.
