Sony Ericsson Open (3/24 - 4/4) : Early Discussions

Name: Sony Ericsson Open Category: ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Place: Miami, U.S.A. Date: 24.03.2010-04.04.2010 Draw Size: S-96 D-32 Surface: Hard Prize Money: $ 3,645,000 Total Financial Commitment: $ 4,500,000 Ticket Hotline: +1-800-725-5472 Visit Official Site

sony ericsson open is here. lets fire up some discussions about this masters series event coming right up in hot, steamy miami. who is looking like the favorite for the title there from your own vantage point and why?

who is going there to win and who is going there to party? the surface plays a little faster than the one in indian wells. can roddick make a deep run here?

and what about fed, clay warrior, djokovic, and murray? this surface may suit murray`s game better.

Murray is the defending champion and this surface suits him well enough (not as much as DecoTurf though) so if he's in a good mindset he has a good shot, his body language in IW was very negative and he looked out of sorts

Roger is a big question mark, will he give his best or not? I wouldn't count him for the title but wouldn't be surprised if he wins either, I just wouldn't bet on either thing happening, he's too unpredictable in MS events nowadays

For Rafa, Miami has been a bit of a curse, he has come very very close to win but couldn't get it, he's planning to play singles and doubles again, so I wouldn't really count him in a surface that doesn't suit him as much as the IW one does, but again, this IS Rafa, so I might be wrong

Will Cilic, Soderling, Djokovic step up to the plate? everyone seems to be so inconsistent these days

Rafael "The Matador of Spin" Nadal
Roger “The Magician of Precision” Federer
Del Potro, Ferrer, Haas, Zeballos

Fuck these events off and get onto the clay season.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".
