WWW Indian Wells QF: Murray vs. Soderling

The most interesting macth of QFs. How will it end? Murray was toying with the opponents in all of his matches here, Soderling crashed them without wasting time. What strategy will prove to be the right one in a long Masters tournament? Vote and discuss.

I'd say Murray in 3.

Murray in 2. Soderling has trouble with top players, except maybe Nadal. He is getting closer and did beat Novak. I am just not sure he can hit Murray out of the park. We will see. One thing is for sure. The winner of this match will be the new #1 in Reed's book

Sure, he's got bad record against Federer and Djokovic. But other than that?

H2H

Soderling - Roddick 2-0
Soderling - Davydenko 7-4
Soderling - Murray 1-2
Soderling - Del Potro 1-2
Soderling - Nadal 2-3
Soderling - Gonzalez 4-4

That's 17-15 against top 10 other than Fed and Nole.

2009 he was 7-11 against top 10. I wouldn't call that problems with top players. Robredo has problems with top players (3-25 against top 10 last four years).

Re: WWW Indian Wells QF: Murray vs. Soderling

Wouldn't be surprised if Soderling pulled out the win - he's looked very sharp indeed, while Murray seems ....... listless. Probably just needs a decent opponent for the challenge to motivate him, but not always easy to switch on form just like that.

Almagro retiring might have actually hurt Murray's chances quite a bit.

Soderling in 3.

Murray's still not looking quite himself to me. If he plays like he can, he can win, but I'm not convinced he will do.

I'm going for Murray in 3. I think he will up his game for this match and it will depend on if Soderling can find the lines for most of the match. IF Soderling is on top form and is firing full pelt then this could be a very interesting contest.
