Robredo def. Baghdatis 7-5, 0-6, 6-4

Never in doubt. Well it was, but unlike Federer, Robredo doesn't give you errors on crucial points and always plays the right shot in tight situations. Probable QF against Roddick, coin flip needed for that one for sure.

The Wit and Wisdom of the Tennis Journalist, Indian Wells 2004

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

Marcos :retard: how the hell can he beat Federer but then lose to Boredo of all people, especially when Boredo had an upset stomach?

Marcos is so crazy.

and we all know Tommy will just bend over for Roddick in the QF without a whimper

Robredo is always aggressive when the match is going to the end, that's why his record in tight matches is so good.

Re: Robredo def. Baghdatis 7-5, 0-6, 6-4

Boredo converted his bp chances and Baghdatis didn't.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

You are the Federer of MTF.

Um, what's the surprise here? Always knew Baghdatis was going to lose next round. Federer is just a mug opponent anyway. Stop being so surprised, as if Federer is so good.

warm regards...

6-2, 6-3, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-2, 6-2 and 6-3, 6-0 (and not even finals).

Re: Robredo def. Baghdatis 7-5, 0-6, 6-4

I remember Baghdatis was described as the most Federer-like of all the young guns a few years ago, it shows in his shotmaking, early ball-striking and, of course, sparkling breakpoint conversion, as tonight's ratio of 3/16 demonstrates superbly.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

That's being generous, Roddick has no chance tomorrow.

Robredo has a chance, he was 0-3 against Sela and 0-4 against Baghdatis
