Thread similar to "Funny Fotos", but instead of funny, we post here tennis photos where the photographer has done a brilliant job.

I'll be partial to pics of Roger at Roland Garros 2009. Everything in that event (especially the outfit - light blue, grey, hint of orange) was perfect and made for epic photographs.

Of course, feel free to post your own.

I expect a lot of Wimbledon pics. Tennis stars minus advertisements in the backgrounds makes for great photos.

some amazing photos above. the fed backhand shot is incredible.

one of my favorite pics for the photography - love how where the racquet is in relation to marat's body, like he's walking away from it in disgust:

These are wicked pix. The best so far.

They pretty much speak for themselves. They don't need a nerdy amount of tennis knowledge to be appreciated. One look at them is enough.

I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder bla bla bla but still, if a pic requires lots of background knowledge to appreciated then it is only geek/fanboi niche material. The above pix on the other hand are worthy enough to be wallpapers or worthy enough to stand on their own as postcards that people on the street would spend money on.

it's no wonder that the most brilliant and beautiful pix are of Federer.

Not really a tennis pic but it will serve to break the Federer-Nadal domination in this thread :)

King Kolya in Miami (it would be great if I had this pic in a bigger size and with high definition)

I've never seen this one before, it's brilliant. :yeah:

Great selection of photos. :)

The Tursunov one is very telling, definitely.
I recall reading many articles about how life on tour is only remotely "glamorous" if you're around the top50,
outside of that it's just grind and a lot of disappointment, particularly on the Challenger and Futures circuits,
and that photo encapsulates that pretty well.

Me...

I always felt like the pros were like caged animals when they are surrounded by fence practicing - this kind of illustrates my theory:
Great observation. :)
I never thought about it that way, but now that you point it out, I can see it.
And a great photo to illustrate.

The other side of the coin for Dima. This was after he defeated Roddick in a dramatic five setter to advance to the finals in the DC.
I was wondering how long before this one shows up...
I'm glad the DC pic gates have been opened already. :p

Interesting. Fed is the only man to win and lose all the slams. Agassi came close, losing to Chang, and Safin in the Semis of the Australian Open.
