Thread similar to "Funny Fotos", but instead of funny, we post here tennis photos where the photographer has done a brilliant job.

I'll be partial to pics of Roger at Roland Garros 2009. Everything in that event (especially the outfit - light blue, grey, hint of orange) was perfect and made for epic photographs.

Of course, feel free to post your own.

I expect a lot of Wimbledon pics. Tennis stars minus advertisements in the backgrounds makes for great photos.

Very nice idea for a thread, thanks!

Well one of my fav tennis pictures ever:

A very striking scene, Feds waiting at the net to congratulate Rafa with his Wimbledon victory. The disappointment drips from his face, beautifully illustrated by the light shining around him. The photographer really 'caught the moment'.
And it isn't even close to 'technically perfect', but the flashlight artefacts only make it even more dramatic. What an awesome job. Should I ever be able to make such a picture, I'd be very proud of it. :worship:

this is one of my favorite shots. i think the perspective, lighting, the row of heads, the whole set-up just captures a bit of the dramatic feel of the moment. i also like the little visual treats like how the shadow of his legs could be making an upside-down W and how his knee tape seems to run in line with the chalk. great idea for a thread, by the way!

A brilliant idea for a thread, thanks for starting it! :)
The inherent gracefulness of the sport of tennis does make for stunning photo moments, it's great having a thread to be able to appreciate that in.
And though most(uhm, 90%?) of the photos I find beautiful that I have saved are of Roger  , I do have a few of the non-Fedal variety. :p

Some are more interesting because they capture a moment rather than beautiful, but they've all made me stop and take notice for some reason.

Gonzalez in RG'09 SF - the torture of clay

Robredo, last year, I think in Miami?
This one captures the frustration of the moment perfectly.

I really like the lights in this one, it lends itself to photoshop manipulation beautifully. Santoro in AO '99. You can almost feel the AO heat in there.
Can't find it without the watermark. :(

Also, pretty much EVERY SINGLE photo taken at last year's Madrid event, by a photographer whose flickr I can't find anymore. :(
It made the Madrid venue look like indoor clay theatre.
This one is one of my favourites:
(It's Djokovic, if you can't recognize those blue shoes immediately. :p)
