lovely pics by you CD
as for this- you would think fred teachiing you the backhand would be a wonderfull moment
but there is a genuine WTF- and slightly creepy quality about this picture which i couldn't help but notice

i agree. there is something strange about that pic.

my favs have always been the australians (emerson, laver, and rosewall), vilas, muster, kuerten, bruguera, and the clay warrior.

holy shit. clay warrior has both of them beat.

rocket of rockhampton had to be that strong since he was so short.

left arm of vilas was simply menacing.

i still need to see 2 of his finals : 1977 french open and 1977 u.s. open.

i need to find them somewhere.

great stuff.

this dude was most like those all time great australians. he played an attacking game, looked elegant on the court, and was graceful in victory or in defeat.

this has become my favorite thread at the asylum.
