Indian Wells R1: Moya d. Smyczek 7-6 7-6

What a match! Unfortunately not televised, but it must have been great.

What a rollercoaster, up and down from both players.
Great win for Carlos, he lost like this earlier this year. Hopefully he will build on this.

Tough match, the tiebreakers were 9-7 and 7-5. I'm so glad he won his first match on hard courts since Chennai 2009. Bellucci next.

So much for Smyczek keeping his run alive in the main draw. Gutsy win for Moya...

Re: Indian Wells R1: Moya d. Smyczek 7-6 7-6

Moya 3/16 bps! Smyczek blew mb leads in both tiebreaks.

I was listening to a radio commentary on this - sounded a bit like Moya was going to flop hard in the 2nd set, as he did vs Gasquet. From *2-0 40-0, he lost 5 points in a row, then was broken again at *3-3 30-0, 4 points in a row. Smyczek apparently choked serving for the set though.

Smyczek goes from dropping 3 games in quallies as a wildcard to flopping out to a 30 something year old who hasn't won a hardcourt match since the Bush administration

Mr Immortal's road ends here, he struggled too much with this guy and is basically crap on HC nowadays
