Last player to beat Sampras/Courier/Chang/Agassi (now concluded)

Since Jim Courier brought this subject up, I did some more research on this.

Pete Sampras - 2002 Long Island - Paul-Henri Mathieu
Jim Courier - 2000 Miami - Thomas Enqvist
Michael Chang - 2003 U.S. Open - Fernando Gonzalez
Andre Agassi - ?

EDIT (just to conclude):
Andre Agassi - 2006 U.S. Open - Benjamin Becker

My faves, for you to bash

Roger Federer, Lleyton Hewitt, Marat Safin, Tommy Haas

Re: Last player to beat Sampras/Courier/Chang

Who was the last player besides Sampras to retire after they had won a tournament. It doesn't matter the size of it, but I'm just cirous as to who was the last before him to bow out on a win.

Andy Roddick.Fernando Verdasco.Richard Gasquet.Tommy Haas

I don't know if it had ever been done prior to that.

Re: Last player to beat Sampras/Courier/Chang

I don't remember any player of importance besides Pete retiring after winning a title. Although I've only been following tennis since 1986.

Doing the research on that would take a long time. I'm not doing it.

I'm not asking anyone to do any research on it, just that if you know the fact off the top of your head that's all.
