Bergamo R1: Valent saves 6MP and def. Evans 6/7 7/6 6/4.

Really a great performance by two guys, but saving 6MP it's very nice achievement even playing with Brendan who fired 21 aces .

It's very good to see another Swiss player fighting form low positions, btw who remember that Valent won juniors Wimby. I'm counting in this year for Sadecky to break through.

I actually think that valent will break through this year... the guy left the tennis scene a couple of years ago to study and now it seems he wants to take his chance again, which is great given the talent he had (still has) when he was a junior! Maybe sadecky will have some decent results but I don't think he will break the top 250. I think he is too much inconsistant with his game for now...

His name means "brave" in Catalan.

Tennis has no blood passport system, and does basically no out of competition testing.

The methods and drugs used by Armstrong in 1999 would work in tennis right now, with zero chance of being caught (not slightly surprising to anyone familiar with the topic, btw).

Stephane Robert.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Machado wins 6-2 6-1

Losing the tiebreak 8:6 from 6:0 up is quite a feat I must say, bravo, Evans.

he is 26, turning 27 this summer...

There are many players who broke through quite late... gicquel is one exemple... more recently robert and chudinelli...

After today Brown's game, Roman has a really quite nice chance to win with Jamaican boy in Friday.

Well, brown beat valent 6-4 5-7 6-4... brown's serve was too good, couldn't lose! 24 aces and he saved 10 out of 12 break balls... valent gave him the first set with 3 double faults when serving at 4-4 in the 1st set, too bad... anyway, good run for valent (ATP 499) who lost against a good ATP 100-150 player. he can feel good if he thinks that his country mate chuidinelli (ATP 54) also lost to brown in 3 sets one week ago!
