Rusty as hell but got the game together in the 2nd and especially the third set. Served vintage the best i've seen since 2008 i think. 26 bombs and many down the T!!

he can reach semis here if he continues to serve good and gets some confidence from this win.

Soderling played crap in the first two, only his serves saved him. Then Soderking came by and paid a visit.

I think they're on Spring Break until Indian Wells.

Nce composure from Soda. He got to Deuce on 11 of Serra's 13 service games, but couldn't convert a break until 5-4 in the second set. From that point forwards, it was a rout.

I would be interested in seeing the point differential in terms of points won for this match. Soda almost never faced any pressure on his first serve, and as henke007 astutely noted, the first serve was magnificent. The best I've seen him serve in a long time. For a set and a half, this was being nullified by sloppy UFEs. But then he got it together and almost fed Serra the donut in the third set. Match stats should be very interesting.

Nalby: 2010 Legg Mason ATP 500 Champion (Welcome back!! )
Nole: 2009 Paris Bercy Masters & 2010 Dubai ATP500 Champion
Soderking: 2010 ABN AMRO Rotterdam ATP500 Champion
Baggy: 2010 Sydney Champion
Gulbis: 2010 Delray Beach Champion
Del Pony: 2009 U.S. Open Champion (Please come back! )

IF Sod reach the SF Davy will double bagel him.
Serra was too tired in the third.

Berdych - Tsonga - Wawrinka - Del Potro - Gasquet - F.Lopez - Monfils - Haas - Janowicz - Youzhny - Tomic - Llodra - Hewitt - Gulbis - Mahut - Haase - Schoorel - Sijsling - Huta Galung - De Bakker - Van der Duim - Westerhof - Middelkoop - Koolhof - Lootsma - Meuffels - Sels - Van Rijthoven

All time: Safin - Schalken - Krajicek - Sluiter - Verkerk - Henman - Ivanisevic - Nalbandian - Ferrero - Philippoussis - Sampras - Siemerink - Blake - F.Gonzalez - Ancic - Haarhuis/Eltingh

Still supporting all the Dutchies despite their great choking skills

Re: First win of the year, Söderling def Serra 4-6 6-4 6-1

Serra is so freaking easy to ace. Sod would probably have lost this otherwise.

Good draw for Sod though. Zverev next is about as much of a gimme as you get atm (assuming he gets past Sizzling Igor). He should make the semis, Davy there is a good matchup. Final appearance would be a tidy 300points, and Sod's 500 spots are pretty empty (lowest is 20) so a nice leap.

Good serving! Keep it up Soderking, let's hope the start-of-season mental hangover has gone now

Will Federer regain the #1 spot and break Sampras's record for most weeks at the top?

Roger // Rafa // Raonic // Söderling // Goffin // Ivo // Wawrinka // Baker // Delpo
