He's on the Q-list of Rotterdam, hopefully he will do well there!

Re: Simone Bolelli, what are you waiting for?

He shouldn't be bothering with Rotterdam...maybe he'll get through qualifying (but Sluiter is a tough start), but with that entry list the chances of him winning a main draw match are less than 50/50.

He really should go back down to challengers and get used to winning matches again. Although at this rate I guess it won't be long before he has to anyway...

Simone Bolelli's push to the top 100.

Simone, as all of you should know, has had a good stretch of form of late. R3 Wimbledon, R2 French Open where he pushed Murray, and winning the Roma Challenger. Now, Simone is in Sopot (it's a challenger event now!) and needs to make the SF to make the USO MD. A final would assure his position back in the top 100. So this is the thread that will update his progress, a progress report if you will.

This has been a horrible week already with Gimeno, Benneteau, Zverev among others all losing winnable matches and damaging their rankings, so hopefully Simone can come through for tennis, and since he has so many fans here, this is your place to cheer him on.

I'm delighted the ATP have decided to push him up the card.

Re: Simone Bolelli's push to the top 100.

Simo v Florent. Very sad match, as both need wins to make the USO. Florent needs to win the event to make it. Honestly, I'm slightly conflicted, because Florent probably needs the win more at this stage in their seasons and careers. Simone doesn't defend much the rest of the year and probably will make the AO in 2012. I want Florent back in the top 100.

This should be a great match with high level shotmaking. But Simone needs this and hopefully he gets it done

Absolutely atrocious merging of threads that have absolutely no connection, moderators. Sorry, but poor form.

Anyway, GL to Simone in Poland.

Re: Simone Bolelli, what are you waiting for?

Guess they figured Simone Bolelli didn't deserve more than one thread dedicated to him on GD.

Still seems like the type of guy who needs a big challenge to get himself out of bed and playing well. Playing challengers can only be damaging for him. Alot better than most of the players in that qualifying draw but I'm sure he'll somehow mess it up.

So someone recently informed me that my sig was empty. Said I needed a life affirming motivational quote by a positive role model like Einstein or Oscar Wilde...

Great tip to stay fit and mobile: If you run up and down the stairs two steps at a time at least once daily, there will never come a time when you can't do it. Until of course one day you mistime a step, collapse and break all your bones... That would suck. But you had a good run.
