ATP Zagreb - worst tournament on calendar.

The majority of matches are played to about 10 fans, the atmosphere is utterly insipid.

The quality of tennis is utterly appalling, probably a mixture of the field, the date of the event, the lack of atmosphere...... everything.

It's just a horrific event all in all, good for fixing and little else.

You will never walk alone

3 events after AO seems too much, 2 events would make a stronger field for them, and Zagreb should go to another week perhaps.

They turn up for the local hero, great.

Most matches have had seemingly under 50 paying spectators.

Re: ATP Zagreb - worst tournament on calendar.

A) I doubt it's the worst in any of the aspects B) Practically all 250 events, except those before AO and Wimbledon, have become akin to a strong challenger since they gimped them with the 500/250 split and the rules for top 30 players, especially those in the second part of the season when most of these players have more than enough points from two such events not to bother overcrowding their schedule any more. Jog your memory about most of 250 series in 2009.

Re: ATP Zagreb - worst tournament on calendar.

First event after a Slam and indoor events that lead to nothing at all.

Not the worst, not every IS event can be like Båstad, Buenos Aires or Umag.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Johannesburg and Newport are much worse.

Prostejov challenger has better field than these two.

LIKE: Stepanek, Youzhny, Stakhovsky, Raonic, Pouille || HATE: Nadal, Almagro, Monfils, Troicki, Simon, Tipsarevic

Delray Beach was so dull last year.

Such a contrast with the great Umag, also played in Croatia. But there the tourists make the tournament.
