Kubot in South American tournaments

It's surprising that Kubot opted to play in South American tournaments considering his great form on hardcourts. Wouldn't it be a better decision to play the events in Europe (Zagreb, Rotterdam, Marseille) or USA (San Jose, Memphis, Delray Beach)?

Re: Kubot in South American tournaments

It's not like Kubot can't play on clay courts. I mean, he made the final of Belgrade last season and had also a great showing in Stuttgart.

Besides that, I think he had already played the South American tournaments last season. I remember that he played at least the Brazil Open, as I watched him against Bellucci.

He likes playing on clay and his doubles partner Marach is better on clay as well.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

He would miss cut offs in Europe.

Marach is better player on clay maybe that's why he is playing in SA.

Not exactly. He would be still in the Entry field of Zagreb and Marseille. Doubles can be a factor but still it can be more difficult to transform quickly from hard to clay and then back to hard in IW and Miami.
