AO R4: Nadal def. Karlovic 6-4 4-6 6-4 6-4

Decent resistance from Ivo . In every set one poor service game from Ivo was enough for Rafa

Anyway great tournament for. If he can keep this kind of game for some time it would be good season for him

Karlovic served very well, but Nadal got the better of Karlovic's groundstrokes.

Well done Rafa, though to the Quarter Finals.

Now to play against Andy Murray which shall be a very interesting match.

You'd think against a big server only one break of serve means you lose the set but it's the opposite. If you can break it's easy from there, even for someone with as weak a serve as Nadal.

Really, really poor match... Ivo's backhand is indeed laughable. The whole thing consisted of serves and ugly UEs. *sigh*. I guess I have to wait a few days more for Nadull's defeat.

True, the last few times they played, there were a number of tie breakers.

Ivo had his chances but played a few brainless games and to be fair Nadal was reading Ivo's serve really well at times. Ivo should come in on the second serve more often IMO, rallying isn't his strenght and his second serve can be difficult to return as well.

Bring on Nadal vs Murray!

Only Del Potro can take him out before the semis, and he won't. Nadal is winning the AO, bet your house on it.
Somewhere out there, there is a homeless person who once took betting advice from GSMnadal

Incredibly lucky set of shots for Karlovic to take the second, don't think I've ever seen so many net cords in a game. Good returning from Nadal, but he needs to cut down on the UE's.
