AO R3: Roddick def. F. Lopez 6-7 6-4 6-4 7-6

Good serving from both, though Roddick had more than enough chances to break. Roddick not knowing the rules on the second match point .

After Nadal beat Monfils at Doha, before AO 2014

Oh well, at least Lopez played a very good match. Hopefully he can carry it to some more tournaments.

Always good to come through a match like that. For a set and a half it looked like Lopez might get on top. Great to see Andy holding his nerve like a true contender. The match-up seems very comfortable for him but anything can happen first week of a slam.

Ever since that ill-fated Wimbledon final with Fraud, Mugduck seems to have taken a step back in his game instead of going forward. It's not too often when two players step into a tennis court and one of them emerges the biggest clown when the other person is Lopez.

roddick keeping the UEs down. overall not bad overall for him, though someone needs to get him some anti-itch cream pronto for those manly bits. lalo's body language really negative in the 4th set, but good for him taking a set at least. hope he can build on that.

Re: AO R3: Roddick def. F. Lopez 6-7 6-4 6-4 7-6

Roddick was hilariously bad on the return of serve, especially in the first set. His resolve to lean on the backhand side was so strong it was bordering on stupid; I think Lopez aced Roddick every single time he shot that first serve towards Roddick's forehand side in the first set.

Anyways, if Roddick doesn't improve soon, I don't see him getting past Del Potro. Even if he's injured.

wat.

Not a bad match but Roddick needs to work on his return of serve over the next few days. Stuff won't fly against Del Potro, Murray, or Fed

The net was bulging a bit so he was right again. Didn't decide to go into it again however.

Good match from Andy, he is really almost impossible to beat from the baseline.

Lopez touched the other side of the court, it was very clear on the replay. Should have been Rod's point.

Hardly a surprise. Lopez loves serving to backhands and even nowadays it's considered Andy's weakness.
