AO 2R: Monaco def. Llodra 3-6 3-6 7-6 6-1 6-3

What a turnaround, Llodra playing like the Mika of yore for 2 sets, then toe/shoe trouble end of 3d set, all downhill from there

Good on Pico for hanging in there

...but Kolya will eat him alive

Re: AO 2R: Monaco def. Llodra 3-6 3-6 7-6 6-1 6-3

Appalling match, a complete insult to a slam level event. Monaco couldn't keep the ball in court for more than a few strokes.

Beginning of 2nd set, he broke for *3-1, then lost 5 games in a row. Broke at end of 3rd set, served for it, choked, broke again, served for it again, choked again. Kudos for winning the tiebreak though.

Llodra had blisters after that, and gave up. Immediately broken to love the first game of the 4th set, and pretty obvious he didn't care after that.

Llodra was decent for the first set, but his serve malfunctioned badly in the 2nd set, and only Monaco exploding kept him in it. In the third his serve was awful, and in the 4th he was just rolling it on.

Re: AO 2R: Monaco def. Llodra 3-6 3-6 7-6 6-1 6-3

At first I was wondering where Llodra's level of play was coming from especially after that loss to Levy a couple weeks ago. But you could tell midway through the third that if Monaco could pull that set out, the match was his. After failing to serve the set out twice, he found himself down 1-3 and later two points from defeat in the tb before squeezing through and eventually running away with it.

Good win for the Argentine. Having said that, he has no chance against Davy.

Lucky one, Pico. Still a good victory. Now prepare to be sacrificed in the altar of DavyGOAT.

It's the second time Monaco beat Llodra being two points away from defeat.

Really scary nerveracking match to watch live, let me tell you guys that! But it was fun, and Pico's smile at the end was beautiful. So happy he won, regardless of what happens against Davydenko

What was today in the tie-break: 5-4 for Llodra or 5-4 for Monaco and later 5-5? In Auckland Llodra had 5:4 (30-0) in the third, lost twice tie-breaks 5-7 so maybe he was more than once 2 points away...
