Koubs! This means that yet another Grand Slam encounter with Ferrero is on the cards, could be a treat if it matches the two epics that they split at Wimbledon and the US Open back in 2004.

The Wit and Wisdom of the Tennis Journalist, Indian Wells 2004

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

7 months can't go quick enough so we won't have to see Ram in grand slam main draws anymore.

I remember the match at Wimbledon, Koubek was up either 4-2 or 5-3 in all 5 sets and lost 2-3.

You imagine wrong.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Machado wins 6-2 6-1

He may actually be out by RG time. And yes, I did calculate it! He has 107 points to defend, and I doubt he will defend even a quarter of that. Losing most/all of those points puts him in the 100-110 range at least.

Good and expected win for Stefan. He has a major opportunity to go further with Dodig up next for him. A 3rd round would be a very nice result for Stefan.

Yeah, great draw for Stefan. Getting 5 wins at a Slam aged 33 would be very cool!
Don't forget he also passed through qualies beating such guys like De Heart, Im and Sweeting!

Mardy Fish!
