Do people really think that Isner will beat Nadal at the AO?

I've read people saying that lately but come on... I mean, seriously, there's absolutely no way in hell that someone like Isner could beat Nadal. I wouldn't even be surprised if Isner loses in the first round against that German guy, tbqh.

So really, stop with the wishful thinking because it ain't happening.

That's all I had to say...
I feel much better now.

Nadal's return of serve is not that good so if he can get to TBs who knows.

Plus John's forehand is at its best in a strike zone and Nadal's loopy shit lands right in it.

If Isner serves ridiculously well, I wouldn't count him out.

Maybe, but joey, would you say that Isner is hit enough to play a long tough match? I think the only chance he would have, and it would be a small chance, would be for it to be a straight set match.

This should be a fun match to watch, but I see the scoreline as something like 6-4, 7-6, 6-4 Nadal.

It can be a very interesting match. Isner could beat Nadal but, being honest, it would be really hard for Isner to win, but I think it depends on whether Nadal plays well or just pushing.

Isner may not beat nadal, but Karlovic in the next round will. Facing 2 servers like that would be demorilizing

I agree. Isner has a big serve and some incredible groundstrokes for his height. This is Nadal's worst match up. But then again Isner dosen't have Del Potro's talent nor consistency.
First set will be very important. If Nadal wins it then the match wiil be over, if not Nadal will have to bring his A game.

anything could happen, this is tennis. but i really dont see this happening especially in a grand slam where you actually need to be able to play tennis where one trick ponies like isner or karlovic are there just to fill brackets

On a faster hard court maybe hes a threat, but with the heat and the slower surface, i think Nadal takes it, worst case scenario for him he loses a set.
