I can't see Benneteau beating Gasquet in the semis (or Mayer).

Re: Gasquet Def. Starace 6-3 7-6

Starace was terrible, particularly in the first set - he didn't even have an answer to Gasquet's second serve - which isn't spectacular, and for some stupid reason he kept hitting the ball directly to Gasquet's backhand. So Gasquet was all over it. In the second set, the scoreline didn't show it, but Gasquet was cruising - he was going to win this match from the outset. He was never lazy, but he got a little experimental and tried pushing his forehand a little more than usual: down the line and hitting it a little deeper, which resulted in a few more UEs than he really should have had. When he pulled it back though, he took it in the tiebreaker.

Starace is a character though, utterly entertaining to watch.

If I could be anything other what I am, I'd want it tomorrow. If I could be what my father wants me to be, then maybe I could stay for that too. If I could be what you want me to be, I'd want to stay. But I am what I am, and all I want is freedom.
