In the first set it looked like a regular match between these two, and was really good actually
. But in the second Gonzo couldn't get two shots in the court and it looks like he gave up. I think maybe his idea was that if he won the first set he'd keep up his good level but if not he wouldn't fight to win in 3. Either way, he's getting some match practice, and I loved his manner, he really seemed to enjoy himself.
As for Nando, I'm very happy with his level of play. It's obvious he's recovered well from his foot surgery and hasn't really missed a beat. He was also playing very patiently, maybe something he's been working on.
It should add some spice to the Aussie Open if both of these guys play well there.
