Maybe a changing of the guard is imminent. How in the heck do u bagel someone the first set and let that guy come back and beat you the following two? Also, I believe this is twice in a row the supposed "GOAT contenders" Fed currently, and Nadal in the future has let slamless Davydenko just bully both of them on the court. The way Davy put the hurting on these two, it would seem Davydenko himself was supposed to be some all time great.
The funny thing with these "90's is stronger era" posters is that they use the argument that "The top players lose more often" to prove that it was a stronger era. Yes, having less consistent top players will make an era stronger, folks!
Now, just wait for Fed and Nadal to be less consistent, so that other players can win something, then it'll become a stronger era. It won't be long, Fed is old and Nadal is injured most of the time. Strong era, here we come!!!

Davydenko was ranked #3 a few years ago, so why is it so surprising if he beats Federer and Nadal sometimes? It is more likely to mean that he is back to his best, rather than there is anything wrong with the top 2.
Denko has continually owned Rada on hardcourts. 5-1 record.
With Fed it is a different story that can be mostly explained by Fed's decline. However, it should be noted that even in Fed's best yers they had some pretty tough and hard fought meetings. Kolya was a player that didn't beat Fed before but he certainly troubled him.
davydenko is so underrated by so many people, don't forget that he was #3 a few years back, he owns nadal on HC, and he has played some very close matches with fed, but just lacked the mental strength and belief to beat fed.
nowadays is a time when he is hopefully playing to his full potential.
Federer hasn't gone anywhere. He's an elite player, and, unlike many of the pimps and playboys on the ATP tour, he knows what he's doing. The JMDPs and Djokers are not consistent and elite enough to prevent him from winning some more GSs.
It's not as uncommon as you think to win a set 6-0 and end up losing a match. It's happened to a lot of top players and will continue to. All in all it's much improved upon effort from Nadal over his last meeting with Davy.
I think I feel more gutted about Nadal losing after holding match points on his serve- to me losing a match like that is a lot more troubling than losing after winning a set at love.
look how aesthetically pleasing his game his- how could you not love it
yes, even his loss to davydenko was a win
