best Fedal five setter thus far?

I got the idea of this thread from Arkulari... I'm sorry if it has been done before.

Anyhow. my vote goes to Rome 2006.

Edit: I just noticed that all of those five setters occurred in consecutive years. I wonder if the trend will be kept alive and we'll have another one this year.

Rome 2006 easily.

Nearly all of their matches are worthless quality-wise, especially their GS matches.

Have only seen two of those (Wimbledons), but, for me, Wimbledon 2008 would take some beating...for a match, it had everything imaginable.

Wimbledon 2008 is in my opinion over-rated. Nadal played better in 2007 and Federer played far better. Rome 2006 is not only their best match, but also the match of the decade.

Re: best Fedal five setter thus far?

2008 Wimbledon final is strange. It was a one hell of a match,a lot of drama and so on. It may not rate among the best Wimby finals ever, but it was an excellent match. Still, many have some need to bash it. Is it because it was a Wimbledon final and may non-experts claim it was the best match they've seen.

Rome 2006 and it's not close.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Wimby 2008 was more of a spectacle but in terms of pure tennis Rome 2006 was truly great.

Only those that haven't watched Rome 2006 could possibly vote for a different option. By far their best match and perhaps even one of the best matches of all of the decade.

Re: best Fedal five setter thus far?

Rome 2006 for me, Wimbledon 2008 was more satisfying and had more drama I think, but Rome was the match that really made me a Rafa fan.

Would love a DVD of it.
