i meant wasn't, it means me fawning over fognini's looks was still not exciting me during the match. call me shallow (or a slut lol) but if the tennis isn't doing it for me it is nice if one of the players is lol

Thanks! That clears it up a bit. I'm still confused why you'd be fawning over Fognini rather than the total package, Karlovic. You must be a male??!

Yeah,Ivo have very good touch for ball (especially on the net) but he really must try hit ball harder (at least while receive) like Isner or Querrey

Its shame he is not younger,I really like watching his matches... remember Queen's 2008 in match against my Rafa (I think he was swearing a lot in silence while just go left-right when Ivo was on service... prevail in the end )

I think you'll have many more fun years to watch Ivo. His game isn't built on foot speed and he doesn't really tend to play that many matches a year, 40 or so, so he probably won't face serious injury.

It's hard for him to blast returns like Isner and Querrey with his slice backhand. It's a shame he doesn't have a solid two-hander like those guys. Without that glaring weakness he might be able to hit top 10.

He is not young to change anything in his game but 1 or 2 big forhends while returning maybe can make diference and scare server,he is virtually unable to break any decent player on Tour.

And its hard to believe he had such a good Wimbledon 2009 and poor overall record for that season... I want even mention lost matches after gigantic number of aces

There are times where he goes for huge forehand returns, often when he takes a big chance and runs around the return. Of course he doesn't get a lot of breaks, but he's actually broken quite a lot of top players many times, including Federer. In his loss to Roddick last year he was up a break in every set. But you are right, last year was definitely not a good year for him. Poor tiebreaker showings. It was unfortunate to lose when serving 55 or 78 aces. In that 78 ace match he had match point against Stapenek and got a descent return in but unfortunately Stapanek hit a solid volley winner. Nice to see him win today with just 2 aces in the 1st set and 5 in the second.

Good performance from Karlovic and he looked better than usual from the ground and crisp with the volleys. If he can keep up the form he can get a couple more wins.
