Do you believe in players losing on purpose?

Just so they can meet the ATP requirement. And exit early to get ready for the tournament they want to win. Or any other reason for that matter.

Re: Do you believe players losing on purpose?

Although no expert on the subject, I'm sure it happens. Whether it is for betting purposes (match fixing), to better prepare for other events, or simply to receive their participation/ 1st round losers payment.

Re: Do you believe in players losing on purpose?

Of course it happens and it's even hard to blame them. I think only the people who put all the effort in their every day at work/school can do this. Not many people like that, eh?

Re: Do you believe in players losing on purpose?

I dont know if they lose on purpose, but they put in a little less effort on purpose and the game is so competitive that once the effort goes down, it results in a loss

Peter Polansky
Nestor - Chvojka - Pospisil - Raonic - Peliwo

Do I believe in some people not filling out their tax forms correctly? Using the bus lane because they are in a hurry? Logging on to social media like facebook during work hours?

Re: Do you believe in players losing on purpose?

It's not a matter of 'believing', it happens for sure. Tanks happen regularly, and even if a bad loss isn't truly a tank job, no player is at his best 100% of the time.

I like how the majority of the responses in this thread is from gamblers who got bitten in the ass by some tankers.
