Nathii, does it not concern you that he is already fixing matches?

I am a Dolgo fan btw, have enjoyed watching him this year.

Re: Tennis Ukraine

Interesting topic, Nathi.

I think we could see 3 Ukrainians into the top 100 next year, but not sure about the 4th...don't know enough about Sergeyev to be able to comment.

Stakhovsky has the ability to be a solid top 100 player, although I'm not sure how much better he could be...certainly, as far as rankings are concerned, he should have a realistic shot at top 50 in the first half of 2010, but I'm not sure that he could sustain that level.

I felt that Dolgopolov had some promise when I first saw him at the GBR/UKR tie in Odessa (2006?), and it is good to see him finally breaking through. He had good touch and feel for the ball...nice strokes. But I'm not sure how far into the top 100 he could go as I don't remember him having a big shot...and in today's game that is something you need.

Marchenko...very 'pushy' player when I saw him in that dreadful Davis Cup rubber against Goodall, and couldn't see him being better than top 100. Could add more weight of shot if he wants...has the frame to be able to do it imo. Otherwise, I don't see him taking many good scalps in the ATP events.

Re: Tennis Ukraine

At the hardcourts indoors/outdoors Marchenko will be alifehe will earn some points to balance in the rank, no doubt about Stacho who is #1 in Ukraine he will make it nice and clean, but Dolgo he is done when the season is around AO, Wimby or USO for me he can play only on clay and he isn't for a such a talent, many ppl overrated this guy about Sergeyev the same option like Marchenko eraning points and balance in ranks.

Re: Tennis Ukraine

I don't know anything about Sergeyev and have not been impressed by his results, but he could progress a bit next year. Don't see him doing anything groundbreaking based on his performance so far though.

Fully expect Dolgopolov to enter the Top 100 next year. Marchenko might. Haven't seen him play, but he's really impressed me with his results this year.

I am a fan of Stakhovsky, but I think that solidity can hardly be expected from his side.

olek has a good serve and a huge bh
he had his best results on clay but I really dont see why he shouldn't be able to get his results on hard/grass
wonder if he can play 5-setters with his elbow though
quite sure that he reaches the top 100 in 2010 if hes injury-free

Re: Tennis Ukraine

Isn't Sergeyev a grinder/pusher? At least he looked like this against Kedriouk in Kazakhstan.

Re: Tennis Ukraine

I saw Sergeyev in the futures and he looked like a ballbasher to me, but he was a kid back then and the opponents weren't too good I suppose.

Maybe this one is really the least prospect but I included him because he also belongs to the top 200. Thanks for your opinions guys.

Sergeyev is more offensive counter-puncher.

Re: Tennis Ukraine

Interesting topic
I don't think they will be like the current Serbs, but they will be better than they are now. I think Stakhovsky has a good chance of being in the top 40 soon, and Marchenko in the top 75, and Doglopov in the top 100, but I don't know about Sergeyev

Marcos Baghdatis Forever!

Through the good and the bad, always my #1, no matter what the rankings say
