Paris F: (3) Djokovic def. (15) Monfils 62, 57, 76(3)

Another match that split sets

A real battle with the hometown crowd involved. Congrats to Nole who looked great all tourney and manned up in the final. Monfils gave a great run under his crowd and showed a lot of fight against a better player.

Nole broke to go to 4-2*, won a long point at *4-3, and held again to have 3 mp's on another long point.

Bercy always seems to hold epic finals.

Paris Final: Djokovic def. Monfils (and France) 6-2, 5-7, 7-6(3)

The first set was simply magnificent from Djokovic. It was a continuation of his rout of Nadal yesterday.

The 2nd set: my God. At 3-1, the crowd rallied Monfils and he started to play a lot better. Novak was an error machine.

3rd set: Much worse from BOTH players. They were both exhausted and pushed the crap out of each other. Brad Gilbert's saying of "winning ugly" was on full display. Maybe 3 or 4 winners were hit. And Novak led by at least a break in each set.

Better tie breaker, though

This one had it all: growls, grunts, stares, and chest pounds, followed by the post-match **** hug. YAY tennis!

WTA level tennis. The indoor season has been absolute shit other than Davydenko and a couple of good matches.

Hilarious match. Congrats to Novak on his first Masters title of the year. He really should have won it much more easily. Some timely dfs from Monfils.

Pathetic passiveness from Monfils, he was playing well when he was going for his shots.

What a WIN THAT WAS. Just made that clown feeling that he could win and what a final set TB. at that TB all monfils could do - just serve(all 3 points he won - it was serve) and push ball back,as it was expected from a clown like monfils.
