Murray defeats Montanes 6-4,6-2

Did not watch the full match. But Murray seems to have played slightly better today although that may have a lot to do with Montanes

I was watching the Steps-Cilic match then switched to this one during a changeover. It was like switching from Pink Floyd to Nsync.

Tennis has no blood passport system, and does basically no out of competition testing.

The methods and drugs used by Armstrong in 1999 would work in tennis right now, with zero chance of being caught (not slightly surprising to anyone familiar with the topic, btw).

I gather you didn't see the second set of Murray-Montanes, then?

Cilic ain't exactly poetry in motion.

Good second set from Andy.

First set was workmanlike, second set was Andy looking like he's coming back to some sort of form.

It truly has been a good run for him. He beat Bautista-Agut in three sets then got a walk-over. Good stuff.

Not that, a quarter final in a hardcourt tournament isn't a thing you see much from Montanes, so it is good for him.

Re: Murray defeats Montanes 6-4,6-2

Terrible from Murray again. I fear for him against Verdasco - won't do his confidence much good if he gets tonked. Might even have been better if he'd come up against someone a bit stronger before now, an easy draw doesn't really do him any favours.
