“The goal, when I took my break of six months, was doing this for the next couple years, not just for one tournament, I understand people who say, ‘Oh, this would be a perfect moment to go.’ But I feel like I’ve put in so much work, and I love it so much, and I still have so much in the tank.”
Shocking. How did Djoko lose 26 points to this muppet?
Anyway, as with most such scorelines, extremes of performance from them both. Djoko was awesome, but Hernych was as bad as he's been since the US Open. There's clearly something wrong with him, he's playing at a futures level atm - losing to Crivoi indoors, and to a crippled Monaco who couldn't run or serve (10 dfs).
