he reached SF at the USO in 2008 as well
he also won Canada in 2005 and 2008, the Olympics in 2008 and Indian Wells in 2007

the only difference was the AO win, but his performance in fast hard courts hasn't been his best

us open is a fast hardcourt, and this is his best result (losing in the semi to the champ), though either way this poll is about hardcourt not fast hardcourt

Best medium-pace hardcourt year ever for sure. 2008 was his best fast-hardcourt year with winning Canada, semis in Cincy, gold medal in Beijing and semis of US Open.

any year you win a slam on hardcourt is a better hardcourt year than a year you don't (plus indian wells and career high us open)
