Re: Which guys are one slam wonders....

so far all of them, but it's highly likely that Duck won't ever win a Slam again while Nole and Juan still have the youth in their side

Rafael "The Matador of Spin" Nadal
Roger “The Magician of Precision” Federer
Del Potro, Ferrer, Haas, Zeballos

I want to know if you have the mental capacity to say Djokovic and Federer...instead of Chokovic and cute adorable Rogie.

Re: Which guys are one slam wonders....

A one slam wonder is a GS winner who was a surprise winner and who never again was a contender for another GS. Roddick is a 4 time GS finalist, 5 time GS semifinalist, and 7 time GS quarterfinalist. He is not a one-slam wonder. Djokovic and JMDP are 22 and 21 years old.

Re: Which guys are one slam wonders....

I would call T.Johansson, A.Costa and G.Gaudio one slam wonders because they all only made one slam final and were not great successes appart from that one tournament.

Players like M.Chang, J.C.Ferrero, T.Muster and A.Roddick may have all only won one slam, but they all had big careers (multiple grand slam finals and/or world number one) so I don't regard them as one slam wonders. However, it is purely based on how you define the term.

I agree that Roddick's potential to win a grand slam has probably evaporated this year. In my opinion del Potro will definitely win more. Djokovic is the one tough one... Moya, Roddick and Ferrero all won their first major at a similar age to Djokovic and it looked like at least one of them would win more but it wasn't to be. Kafelnikov, Kuerten and Safin each had a few years between their first and second slams so it can be done.

Re: Which guys are one slam wonders....

Exactly what BGT said, but in refernece to someone above, Roddick did lose 15-13 in the 5th set of a grand slam final this year, its a little unfair to say he will never win.

Peter Polansky
Nestor - Chvojka - Pospisil - Raonic - Peliwo

I've been calling Federer Rogie since the 2004 USO QF against Agassi. Chokovic gets called that because he had a couple of chances to bump Rogie down to #3 and himself become #2 earlier this year and he choked them away. Needed like one win and lost to Jarkko Nieminen, for crying out loud, Jarkko Nieminen.
