China Open QF: [1] Nadal bids farewell to Safin 6-3 6-1

Great match from Rafa

He was playing agressive and effective
Cilic next - hope he can cope with the Croat too
I said before the match it's gonna be a two set win for Rafa
Vamos !!

Nalbandian fans are always hypocrites.

Marat served like shite today and couldn't convert on his BP chances and the times he was 0-30 up.

Bit of a let-down, this match. I expected quite a bit more of it, judging from the Safin-Gonzales match. (understatement alert! )

Rafa didn't need to do anything special, and imho, he didn't do so either. A routine, solid performance. Congrats, Raf!
Safin was just... pathetic. Sorry, no other words for it. You know he's in a major mess when his serve stats are worse than Rafa's, who isn't actually anything near to being a 'big server'.
Time to Leave the Building, Marat... alas.

the amount of luck this moonbaling bunnie gets is really staggering - first Blake chokes the match away and then retiring legend refuses to put up a decent fight

After the Gonzo-match some hopes ran too high, including my own.

Shit match from Marat, Nadal just needed to be on court to be declared the winner.

Roger Federer | Benoît Paire| Stanislas Wawrinka | Nick Kyrgios

Safin's first serve percentage was in the mid 60s wasn't it? I don't think he served poorly, he just played poorly in the rallies.

Re: China Open QF: [1] Nadal bids farewell to Safin 6-3 6-1

Finally I got to see Rafa playing Nice entertaining match IMO, great exchange on the net at the end and some entertaining antics from Rafa in the 2nd set Even Marat gave Rafa a Too bad Safin couldn't keep it more competitive but Rafa played well swinging his shots from corner to corner kissing the lines and moving Safin around.
Good luck against Cilic, Rafa

Say good bye to China, Marat and thank you

When I'm good, I'm very good...but when I'm bad, I'm better

Re: China Open QF: [1] Nadal bids farewell to Safin 6-3 6-1

safin's forehand is one of the worst on tour. dont know how this guy won 2 slams, i rememeber Federer wasted a match point in 2005 by trying the through the legs shot.

btw, safin + mug = MUFFIN!
