Anyone know the reason? I suppose wrist or shoulder or something, Jeremy was winning a massive amount of points on his serve considering how big it is.

Great stuff, Jim. Needed to keep focused and positive after the poor tiebreaker and did just that, managing to break Big John twice in the second set. Take out Nole next.

Hope John is ok, it would be awful if he had to miss the Open.

Thats probably it, he wasnt winning any points off Chardys serve so it would explain why he was only winning points off his own, not having to move much.

Always sad to hear a player had to retire because of an injury, even when rooting very much for his opponent.

Get well soon, John...

But can't hide it - very happy for Jérémy! Congrats!

Yup. Isner on his own 2nd serve won 0/8 points in the 2nd and 3rd set. In the same period, Chardy won 28/29 points off his own serve.

Sounds like Isner was battering the first serve, then couldn't run.

I saw the first set. He had no trouble on his serve. Pretty steady.

Apparently, Isner retired due to heat exhaustion.
