Gille Simon drops to No. 9 and loses to Tsonga

I never thought Simon was ever the best of the four French musketeers, in fact I considered him the last of the four. So I was always confused as why he was ranked the highest.

Could it be Simon is finally coming down to earth. I easily see him dropping out of the top 10 by Basel and he never regaining his ranking in 2008.

Simon's game just doesn't have any winners in it unlike the top 5. He doesn't have a huge serve, he doesn't have a great backhand or forehand. His biggest weapon was his consistency but even that has begin to slip in 2009. Is it over for Simon?

Not sure, he needs to be very, very mentally strong now as he has started losing more.

It's called accumulating points in MM events and sneaking up on a few top guys, then that stops.

YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS

Maybe you should read the answers to all your threads about Gilles Simon not deserving to be ranked so high then.
Gille Simon STILL ranked higher than Tsonga or Monfis?
Is Gille Simon back? Where is Monfis and Tsonga?

Any "how x player got the ranking he has" thread is in the top 10 of most tiresome and pointless ones. Check the ranking breakdown for heaven's sake, it's all there.
I didn't realize Dorian here is a champion of the ones devoted to Simon

Re: Gille Simon drops to No. 9 and loses to Tsonga

His year has been mediocre. Hard for him to follow up his great second half of 2008.

He can still do damage though. He should remain a Top 15 player for a couple years, I believe.

Who is the 4th Musketeer? Mathieu or Gasquet?

/ / / /
Djokovic.
\ \ \ \
Coric.
/ / / / /
Youzhny.
\ \ \ \
Del Potro.
/ / / /
Paire.
\ \ \ \
Ferrero.

It's just math (just add and subtract, not calculus), didn't you take that subject at school?
And if you just want to diss Simon, at least think of something original to say, otherwise, just follows GlennMirnyi around and agree with him.

Re: Gille Simon drops to No. 9 and loses to Tsonga

Simon isn't doing too badly...should finish the year top 20 unless he falls away completely or a couple of players a little further behind enjoy some huge results (not likely when you look at the names concerned ).
